I am originally from Crawford County, Georgia, home of the Lizella Red Clay I use in my pottery. I grew up surrounded by this clay. This clay was dug a mile to the east of my childhood home and processed a half-mile to the west. Lizella Red Clay even provided my first job, as I worked at Lizella Clay Company while in high school. We would bag, box, and send this clay all over the country. I now teach art with this same clay, in the same high school classroom I had as a student under Mrs. Perry. She was an awesome teacher by the way. Other than those art classes, I am completely self-taught. I enjoy working and teaching on the wheel and creating organic forms with slabs. When not in the classroom or working in the shop, my beautiful wife and six occasionally lovely children keep me rather busy.
