Michael was born in Statesboro, Georgia. He traveled extensively
as a son of an Air Force Father. The family lived in Japan, Iceland,
Turkey, Korea and Guam as well as several U.S.. locations.
Michael served for 20 years in the US Air Force as a logistics and supply officer. Michael has a 20 year career as a middle school teacher in Georgia.
He now lives with his wife, Barbara, in San Antonio, Texas.
He learned how to carve in Omaha, Nebraska as a member of the
Mid-America Woodcarvers Club. Michael is a member of the Alamo Area Woodcarvers Club in San Antonio, Texas, and a member of the New Braunfels Woodcarvers Group in New Braunfels, Texas.) . Michael has won
numerous awards for his carvings, including First Place in the
cariature category in the 2016 Texas Woodcarvers Competition.
He specializes in Santa carvings but often ventures into other categories.
